W hen I was in primary school, my father and I took a load of green waste to the local garbage dump. On the way home we saw a kangaroo on the side of the road, taking its last breath after a run in with a car. I went home and wrote a piece about it, titled ‘Fatal Crash in Highfields’.

“With a headline like that, you’re going to be a journalist one day!” Said my dad.

I loved writing, almost as soon as I could read. I wrote poetry, short stories and hung on every word my English teachers said. I finished a Diploma of Arts in Journalism at USQ in 2011 and after spending several years writing online, I’m now working on my memoirs. Want to talk about working on a writing project together?
